A1GP to Debut Bio-Fuel at Taupo

In an article in pitpass, A1GP has announced that they will debut a 30% Bio-Fuel mix in New Zealand. The goal is to show that it is possible to reduce pollution in racing cars.

I think A1GP is a great place to try this out. IRL has gone to Ethanol already and series like A1GP, IRL, and Champ Car are great places to prove this type of tech. They all get SOME media coverage (IRL most of all) and it's good to show that it can be done. One day we might see greener F1 cars that allow for overtaking

    The pics are the article.

Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems are scheduled for 2009, and Bio-fueled Turbo's are planned for 2011.

I think it's great that they are taking it to the track. You can experiment as much as you want in the lab, but the people need to see the solution in action. I could actually imagine the adoption and approval rate going up as a result of this (assuming a supporting communication campaign is done ).

I can see formula 1 taking notice on how it goes as in the very near future they will have to go the same way. There may be teething problems at the start that the engineers will sort out in a short space of time.

    Good move in my opinion.
