Here are some clips to show you the great new graphics you'll enjoy with this game if you get your hand on the PS3 anytime soon  Talk about realistic! This stuff is just crazy, can't wait for PS3 prices to drop :D

Sweet Jesus those are nice. Probably not worth the $600+ it costs to get a PS3, but wow...did you see the tire bounce across the track? Even the tire bouncing has a realistic physics model! I hope that the game plays as well as it looks...if everything is realistic, this could be one heckofa game for F1 fans!

I agree that the graphics look fantastic. I wonder what the game play is like and what the difficulty level is.
The price of the PS3 of about $1200 in this country will prevent me from even thinking of buying the new system.:(

$1200 USD?! On Ebay here they're like $4000 but that's just because they're in short supply right now, but geeze...you're right, now *THAT'S* a lot to pay for a game like this.

$1200 NZ dollars for PS3. I'm not to sure what the exchange rate with the US dollar is.

The exchange rate is about 0.67 so yea that's a lot of money for the PS3, $800!

I got it in the mail today! (one of the percs of being a part time video game critic :D)
The problem is I don't have a PS3 yet though. I just ordered one online so it will probably arrive in a couple of days. 6328 SEK I had to pay for the damn thing (which with the current low dollar rate would be around US$ 900). Now hopefully the game distributors send me lots of games so I'll make the money back quickly. :)

I've given up on console games. Never really felt the driving could be properly recreated on a console game. Partly do to the mechanics of a game being designed to use a hand held controller and it being designed for a mass audience.
TOCA2 and TOCA3 were ok.
I want to get a excellent gaming PC and have games like GTR2 and rFactor, with a good wheel-pedal system. In my opinion the gameplay and flexibility of a game is more important than the graphics. I still play GPL every chance I get. Can you even access any kind of updated carsets in new console games like this one?

Theoretically yes. Lots of console racing games like Project Gotham Racing for example offers new car sets for download every now and then. Sony's F1 series on the other hand would probably not supply new car sets as they would want people to buy their 2007 game.

I'm not sure F1 07 will be comming. I've read (on here I think) that Sony is no longer under contract. There might be a year of delay until we see a new F1 game.
I have played the PS3 DEMO. It was great. The thing I liked was that it had driver aides (like auto braking on turns). I didn't know when I started playing that they were on, but it helps you get the hang of the game until you get better. Keeps you from getting frustrated and quiting. I'd like to see that in my MotoGP 06.

Here's another clip (not a trailer). I don't know whether he's using driving aids, but you can hear the traction control working hard

One of my favourite things to do on this game is start a quick race, and then put all the fast cars at the back and the slow cars at the front (with myself in P22). It creates quite a few incidents and lots of action. :D:p

I have it and love the game, it does look as good as the vids do on here.
Racing against others online is a totally new experience and can end in heartache when someone punts you off.
