From the latest news, it looks like Alonso could drive in December, although nothing has been confirmed.
He's been to the Mclaren factory for a seat fitting so do you think it will be possible for him to drive before his contract runs out, which is 31 December?
This is one of the questions that I don't actually know what I think because of the possible permutations. Why would Renault help 'the enemy' by releasing him early? It's not like they'll lose out by keeping him.

One thing we should not forget is who is Alonso's manager and who is Renault's team principal... The question here is: What does Flavio want more? his driver to test with his new team, or his team to prevent McLaren from gaining any advantage for next season? I do hope is the second... It has been bad enough to see a team on which ALL the resources are invested in just one driver (which is quite differente from giving one driver the status of #1... this is almost like having ONE driver in the team!) in the last two years, just to see now how Flavio keeps playing all his cards to help Fernando.

Welcome back Carlis! :D Did you go on an 'F1 sabbatical'? You know we fans never get a break, so it would be a good idea :p
You know as you guys already pointed out, with Flavio being Fernando's manager, it is highly unlikely that he will be driving a McLaren this winter. And as far as I know the request has already been rejected. If you think about it, there's just absolutely no benefit in letting one of your main competitors get a great driver sooner than he contractually should
So prolly like Kimi we're not going to see him in a new car before January.

Alonso won't be driving a McLaren-car before newyear, just like Kimi in the Ferrari. It's stuff for 2007 to look forward to:)

Hey Jo...
As you have probably noticed by now... I come and go on this forum, not as often as I would like... I am trying to finish my studies this year, so the workload has increased almost exponentially in the last few weeks... writting the thesis, some papers, conferences here and there, job applications... I think that I haven't had a full "free and relaxed" day since late september or so :(
In anycase, most of the "hard deadlines" are coming soon, so I should be able to come here from time to time to cheer for the big reds :D

Yap... Too much for Briatore to be loyal to the team that actually pays his salary (although, with the percentage he is getting from Alonso's juicy contract at McLaren, it might be very well that, in fact, he was being loyal with the team paying the highest part of his income :p )
