Has anyone invested in a hybrid car, or something that doesn't run on gasoline? I've been kind of passively looking for something like this, given gas prices are just starting to get crazy and the fact that it'd be nice to buy a car and not have to 'fill up' anymore, or atleast not at $2.30/gallon (which is what it's here) and not have these prices going up and down based on global politics...

Any thoughs?

We're definitely getting there pretty fast Chris. I'm not going to claim that my next car is going to be a hybrid car, but there are quite a few good models out there.

Both the Toyota Prius and the Honda Civic Hybrid run an electric motor in combination with a gasoline engine to achieve a higher mpg (up to 50)

Then you have cars like the new Chevrolet Monte Carlo, that comes with a 3.5L V6 / 211 HP engine. But although it only get some 20 mpg, it doesn't run on fuel, but simply on ethanol

But I'd always be up for a diesel, German manufacturer's have really developed this technology :)
