View Full Version : Should Customer Chassis Be Allowed?

Most of you probably already heard about the ongoing dispute regarding the introduction / usage of customer chassis, which particularly applies to Toro Rosso and Super Aguri for this season.

I agree with Frank Williams :) : If you are a team in Formula 1 you have to design your own chassis. This is the way it has always been, and it is a fundamental characteristic of Formula 1. Sure, the sport is undergoing many changes as it moves further into the new century, but there needs to be a standard and it should continue to be the epitome of motorsports, therefore lead by example :wonder:

Either you give all of the teams one chassis (which of course would divert significantly from previous F1 regulations) or you ask each team to make its own chassis :mad:

A very big no from me. Formula 1 is about teams developing cars. If they follow through with this it would start to sound like A1GP or simular series.

I think it should be allowed, as long as they modify the chassis drastically. That way teams like Super Aguri won’t be 3 seconds off the pace, and we would see more competitive racing.
