Old Juan scored his first in his first full NASCAR season at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Although he was quick all weekend, he was behind his team mate with six laps to go.

He then decided to try a move, and took him out

If you take a close look at the cockpit view, it's clear that there was no way he could have passed from that distance :wonder:

It was a stupid move. He was so much quicker than Pruett at that stage of the race that he could and should have waited for a better opportunity to pass. It wasn't really any question that Montoya would get past him it was just a matter of time.

I don't know, this was pretty close to call. It looks like Montoya might've pressed it a bit much, probably should've waited for a better opportunity but I don't know if he did anything "wrong" - probably didn't give Pruett enough time to react, but it looks like an accident to me.
