Since I'm growing older (!!) I've come to realise that the best music has already been made. ;)
This thread is for the music you still listen to and that still rocks (or pops, if you're into such things).

Damn straight! I turn 35 in a couple of weeks and I too have noticed alot of the "newer" music is just churned out en mass, and doesn't have any staying power. There are exceptions to the rule of course:cool: but not many.
NoMeansNo just played in Vancouver last night... Missed it:mad:

Drummers who are lead singers... not a very common combo.

Satanic Surfers, one of my favourite bands from the 90's. They haven't aged very well (not much from the so called "skate punk era" have) but some songs still kick ***.
Edit: Yes! It does indeed kick three little asterisks!

Well, the nineties had all the boring Eddie Vedder sound-a-likes so the 2000's has to have something. :D
I'd take an Eddie Vedder sound-a-like over some whiney-a$$-punk-wannabe any day:cool:
On that note, here's a great band from the early 90's.
Yeah, yeah. I know. It should be in the NSCH's thread. So sue me:rolleyes:

It's time to go back to 1994 now. A time when I used to love the Manics.
And then they became old and boring...

Here is a mash up of three great songs. I found this by coincidence, and the way MTV did it is truly incredible.
Oasis, Green Day and Aerosmith in Boulevard of Broken Dreams :)

I haven't heard anything new from them since that song.
Here it is, 'Straight Lines'. 'Tomorrow' is still probably my fav. I don't know what to make of this new album.

Our Lady Peace "Superman's Dead"
More great Canadian kids! Naveed was a great album, but I just CAN'T watch him sing! YUCK! The new stuff is, IMO, really lame.
So here's some more fine Canadian talent. Another band that's fallen of off the radar. I Mother Earth, 'One More Astronaut'.

Was at my parent's a couple of days ago and found some old Therapy? CDs I've more or less forgotten I had. Still were some great songs on them. :)

I haven't heard that in a while. Awsome:thumbsup:. It was definitely their greatest 'hit'.

I know, that sucks:(. I watched 'Save Me' right after you posted this. "No Imbedding". Wither, Blister, Burn and Peel was a classic 90's album (which I had on tape:lol:). I have the CD now, somewhere. I used to love to drive around listening to that with the bass just cranked:D.
I gotta find somethin'. Watch this space....
*Some Temple of the Dog for ya;)

I couldn't find an actual vid for the song (I don't think they made one), but here is one for Friday morning. It's a bunch of really nice surfing pics put to the song. One of my favorite Sublime tunes... 6 minutes long, turn it on an go about your day:cool:. Everyone enjoy the weekend!!:D It's a long one for me:thumbsup:

It's not so much a song that I like, per se. But in light of last weekends F1 race, and the brutal way (for some of us anyway) our last League game went down... I subject you to my madness:drunk:.

Take note kids. This is what REALLY good music is all about. Even if you just like some of Pink Floyd's music, the music documentary 'Live In Pomeii' is truly a work of art. I've owned a few copies in my lifetime, but they all end up dissapearing:wonder: I gotta get a good fresh DVD version. The whole thing is amazing...
