I read the Raikkonen has come to an agreement to move to the italians in 2007.

Does anyone know more about this?

Yea,

There's nothing to it. "Bild" is a reliable as...well it's not reliable :p

The tabloid magazine "Bild" that keeps posting such ridiculous headlines to create a huge hype and get more of their sensationalist media off the shelves should seriously consider revising the facts first before starting off rumors like this. It is probably the most unreasonable unlogical and most unsuitable time for Micheal Ron Jean and Kimi to be discussing 2007. It is complete nonsense in every sense of the word. And its really starting to bother me that everytime there is a very controversial rumor that's going on it's always this magazine that is its backbone, with its "reliable sources that would like to remain anonymous". If these magazines have got something to say then say it, but if there isn't anything to be said, then sit down, shut up and find something else to do.

 I just had to get that off my chest.

I don't think that Raikkonen will move to other teams. he is a good driver and gets paid good by Mclaren so why should he move?

plus eddie jordan just said in an interview that he doesn't think its' likley either. :!:

i wouldn't mind him in a joran :P

I actually think it's quite plausible.

If McLarens car next year doesn't turn out good  , then that will be the key to Raikkonen for Ferrari. 8)

You need to think like an F1 Driver 8) , if you're getting enough money then all you look for it being competitive, and if, just for the sake of theory :D , it's Jordan, that's where he'll sign his contract for 2007. :D

This episode might take a new turn now...

Raikkonen was not happy with the reliability of Mercedes engines, but he had the team working for him, and only for him (they even sacrificed Montoya to give him the victory at Canada!)

But after today's announcement from Red Bull, McLaren has lost one of their most important figures: Adrain Newey! With Newey going to Red Bull, McLaren has to face a whole new challenge for them: Finding someone capable of designing a competitive F1 car. After the sounded failure that was the 2004 season for the british team (which car was originally not designed by Newey, but it was modified by him in the B-model, introduced by half of the season...), I think the team has TWO big problems to be worried about.... First, as I mentioned earlier, who is going to design their car? and the second problem: What do they have now to convence Raikkonen to stay? An unreliable engine and no-one (yet) in charge of the design of the car...

The Adrian Newey development is interesting, but it would be incorrect to assume that McLaren is now weaker without him. A gigantic company like McLaren cannot afford to be depandant on on person, this rule goes for small businesses too. :D

What Raikkonen cares about is a quick and reliable car. Whoever can provide him with that, he will go for it. Ferrari is not really a good option anymore, because the team that made it successful is fading away. :!:

McLaren has been preparing for the prospect of Newey leaving McLaren for a long time. It may be good for both. The problem Newey may have is that he is drained, he has given McLaren his everything and you could say his potential has decreased. With a new team the situation is entirely different. 8)

Raikkonen said in an interview he has many options for 2007, and he is waiting to see McLaren will be competitive this season.

So we may see a Raikkonen / Alonso combination for '07 after all, although it would cost McLaren a few bucks more.

I dont think Adrian Newey is drained, or out of ideas. He's not getting any younger but i'm sure the more experience you get in a field like his the more precise you work, and the more efficient, reliable and innovative your designs become. I personally think that McLaren lost a big chunk of what was causing them to push forward like that. He will be replaced of course, whether or not someone can match up to his standards is yet to be seen.

As for Kimi Raikkonen in 2007, just like Kimi himself said, i think it depends on McLarens performance this year. If they dont shape up, i'm sure Kimi is wanted by enough teams, that he would get a pretty good contract at almost any team he pleases. Only time will tell what this season brings for McLaren and Raikkonen. 8)

The rumors won't stop. Apparently, Raikkonen already signed a contract with Ferrari, and the announcement could come as soon as Imola.

I wouldn't like to see Raikkonen at Ferrari, but it looks quite possible that he's set for Ferrari. :(

We'll see... :?:
