1. Matt Mladin - Yoshimura Suzuki
2. Ben Spies - Yoshimura Suzuki
3. Tommy Hayden - Yoshimura Suzuki
Offical times haven't been posted yet, sooo...
Not a bad race for a 4+ mile long track. A great draft at the last second by Hayden to get past Duhamel just yards from the finish line for third. I missed the start and it looks as though Spies took a tumble on the warm-up and was fairly battered come race time.
The track is currently soaking wet for the Super Sport series.

They red flagged one of the races because of lightning.
Also there was a great drive from an Australian rider in the 600 series on a wet/dry track.

That was Aaron Gobert, and he did a hell of a job! It was quite a snotty track, to say the least.
Asked what his secret was in the wet, he stated, “I maximized the wet practice. No one else went out in the first practice session we had; they all parked it and cried and said, ‘it’s wet, we’re not going out, it’s slippery.’ I went out there and changed my gearing, changed my bike, and worked on it.”
Good job mate:thumbsup:

Man it HAS been a minute since I watched AMA. Last time I watched it was Mladin Yates and Spies had just come on. I guess Yates changed teams. I Like Mladin but I got tired of him getting every pole and winning every race without any challenge. I mean it's great that he was so dominant but it's bad for TV. I'd like to see him go up against Rossi in Moto GP.:D

I don't think he would fare any better than Nicky in the age of the 800's. A humbling experience it would be though me thinks.
The biggest loss to the AMA SBK this year is no Ducati's (MV Agusta's don't count and they haven't really done much), although they do run the 749 in the Super Sport series, or is it formula extreme:confused:. That's another thing, the AMA needs to drop a class or two. Super Stock, Super Sport, Formula Extreme and Superbike is too much.
I loved watching Neil Hodgsen (Parts Unlimited Ducati - Currently rideless:() last year. He brought alot of personality and style to the series. If I remember correctly one of the Bostrom's was his team mate:wonder:.

Could always bring Rossi to AMA. Hehehehe. That's like sending Juan Pablo Montoya (F1) over to NASCAR (which he did last year). He was a real contender in F1 but not in NASCAR (yet). Different Series = Different results alot of the time.

That'll never happen:lol: (Rossi coming to AMA)
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rossi in an F1 machine by 2010. And competitive:cool:

I think he's tested for Ferrari a couple of times with good results. With F1 going with so many new drivers I wouldn't doubt it. Maybe we'll see Shumi on 2 wheels. Hehehe or not.

Indeed he has:cool:. In fact there was some controversy before this (motoGP)season began because some thought he wasn't focused enough on his riding, and his attention was too geared toward his dealings with Ferrari.
He has some great stories about his passion for auto racing in his book. It's a good easy read. Check it out:thumbsup:
