Have any of you tackled this series? How grueling/hard is it? Got any pointers? (PM 'em to me if you have to;)). I'd like to give it a shot for Canaduh:finishfirst:.

I personally don't like it. But there are many who do. I've never had any success in it.
It's not that different from F1 except that it has no team-mates and all equal cars. It's very close racing. Lots of crashes and other stuff. One mistake can ruin your whole race weekend.

Well that should say something! That means I don't stand a snowballs chance....
Actually, I'm more intrigued than ever now:cool:. Success could feel soooo sweet:D. I'm used to the failure:rolleyes::lol:

I like A1, but never had a good season.

I would guess working solo, it's difficult to get a really good setup, no?
I'm waiting for a new one to come up.

Exactly, at least you're in the same boat with others. And not checking the game every ten minutes to see if your team mate did his runs.
I am having troubles with testing, I need to find out what driver's characteristic is better for A1 testing.

I'm having a hard time in that regard with all of them:rolleyes::lol:. I can't remember what I had used in our first season, but I seemed to crash a lot. I chose to use 'cool' in this Champ season I'm in and the crashing part seems to only happen in practice and warmup. We'll see. Our next (and third) race is in less than 3 hours.

I'm a little concerned about tyre wear in the game. Only 2 wets and 2 drys. Any pointers on how to make them last during the Practice, Quali, Warmup, and the whole race? Or is it a moot point?

Hehehehe, run your wets in dry weather to have new dries for the race!! Hehehehe

I think I got it figured out:thumbsup:
I'd like to see a few more forum members take some seats:D. Mind you, some of you have pretty full racing schedules as it is:wonder:.

I did 4 runs out of 9 :(
I don't have problems with tires wear, I just use them until they must be changed.
Always qualify and race on the best condition.

Exactly! There are lots of seats still available. Personally, I'm really looking forward to this A1GP season. Especially if we can get some more WRF peeps involved:thumbsup:.

Picked up team Ireland. Ran wet tires with high risk to get some times. Then reallized that there are only 23 laps. shoulda just continued burning through that one set of slicks. Oh well. I had one lap left to use so I threw the risk up to like 70 and tossed on wets!!:lol:

In A1GP I usually at around 50 experimentation in practice for race 1. before going up to 60 for the other sessions, losing laps and getting a poor setup for the sprint qualifying can ruin both sprint and feature races.
Also use one set of tyres for practice and warm-up, then qualify and race the sprint on the other. For the feature use one tyre set for the warm-up. I like to use the fresh to start the race then run to about 2/3rd's race distance then pit and switch on to the used ones for the final stint of the race.

I run at 100 for the last lap.
Thanks Ryan for the tips.
7 seats available, choose your country and let's race. We will make this topic for sharing tips for the A1.
Let's get our Clan in the top ten.

Yup, that's the way I do it too. I just joined an A1GP game, but with WR Opt-Out. Had my first pole last race, but a collision took me out early on :(
Like Ryan said, the key is consistency and a good qualifying. You do not need a perfect setup first time round. You could drive to pole with about an 80% setup, and then you're in good shape for the race

Starting to get my games mixed up. Oh ya, did you know that when you buy Kool Tools that you actually get to use it. Started doing setup and totally forgot that I could use it. Good $$ spent right?? DUH!! Oh well, there's always next time.:p

I've had major problems with posting threads and replies here so this post is kinda test if things work yet...

I have a love/hate relationship with A1. Before April/May this season I did very well in almost every season I took part in (but kept missing out on the championship by a little bit!). Since then, its very much hit and miss .. and I'm not the only one who thinks this!! A1 GP has been screwed up by Jules' tinkering .. its much more of a lottery than any other carset. :( A very good Quali is totally essential to having a good race weekend now. I've found that having Consistent allows me to test at a high value without losing many laps at all, and now I can qualify in the top 5 for almost every race. ;)
I'm a little concerned about tyre wear in the game. Only 2 wets and 2 drys. Any pointers on how to make them last during the Practice, Quali, Warmup, and the whole race? Or is it a moot point?
I use one set for practice and the other for Quali (I only do 2 laps) and the Sprint Race. :)

That's good information Flibble:thumbsup:. Thanks, everything in A1GP helps.
On that note! Congrats to Fahad for picking up the win in the first race of the season:finishfirst:. Way to go mate!
I was immensely pleased to place 6th. Our friend EIR didn't fare so well:wonder:. He didn't crash tho!:D

I'm mega sucking at this and at Champ Car. I'm doing fairly well at the F1 series that I'm in. 2nd overall after 3 race (one that I crashed out of in lap 1)

That sounds a lot like my last season in WRF league 1 when Harakimi kept knocking me off the circuit:rolleyes::lol:. Bastard!

It was about that many times though wasn't it?
Why is it you hate the A1GP game so much? I don't mind it thus far. And I'm not striking it rich either:lol:

I just didn't like it's qually/race system and racing is a bit lottery there. I like other carsets better so I'm using my slots to em :)
I've been trying to post abit longer thread about different carsets but I have some problem posting over 20 row threads right now
