As many of my friends here at the WRF know, fishing (specifically fly fishing) is my oldest, and greatest passion. My Dad got me into it at a young age and it's been the biggest constant in my life. And I'm sure all of us have done it at some point in our lives. I love my racing, and who doesn't, but really, my life revolves around water and the creatures that inhabit it. AND I WANNA CATCH 'EM!;):D (not kill 'em, I have a fairly strict, catch-and-release, no kill philosophy)

If you have a great fish tale or a funny story of a fishing adventure gone awry, I want to hear it:D. Please share:thumbsup:

Yesterday was a marathon trip. I missed out on 2 of my BATRacer games. Sorry guys:o
Slogging through the bush (no paths, it's the bush afterall:lol:) crawling under and over fallen trees, acres of moss and ferns, getting soaked by the nonstop drizzle. Every time you touched a branch (which was every 10 seconds) you got water down your neck. All in the name of Steelhead:cool:. Good times:D

On our way to our destination (which shall remain nameless), there was a deer on the highway not 100 meters from us. My buddy feathers the brakes and the animal tries to get going on the wet ashphalt... No traction on 'cut slick hooves'. Anyway, the thing gets past us only to be nailed by the car coming the other way. We saw it coming, but I guess he didn't. We had passed and heard a solid WHACK! The guy didn't even hit his brakes. He just kept going:confused::lol:.

We each managed a couple and lost a few. Good day, but looong.

I will have to post up some pics of my bass I caught down at Rodman Reservoir in Florida.

But that looks fun salty. I love to fly fish too.

We have a good population of smallies around here, some of the bigger ones can get up to 8 or 9lbs, which is pretty good for a smallie. I've seen some of the largemouths to come out of the south. They are pigs! That's for sure! I don't do a lot of bass fishing, but in the heat of the summer, when the trout are off, they are more than willing to come to a fly;).

If I had spent time in FLA, I would have done all I could to try for some bonefish and tarpon in the Keys:thumbsup: I guess the Peacock bass in the canals around FLA can be pretty good too, but you really need to know where you're going:wonder:

Pardon my ignorance, but is 'Stuckyville' in the area of Kentucky?? I need to bone up on my US geography:lol:

It's getting to be Flounder season here. There is an island right here off Galveston called Pelican Island that has a pier that sticks right out into the Flounder's natural migration path. There are gazillions of Flounder to be caught if you can get through the crowd. I plan on bringing out the machine gun to clear a spot.:lol:

Sometimes I go out to the dike too, but there's a lot of rocks out there to loose you line on. There are some trout out there, just not biting my bait.:lol:

I should come down there so you can take me fishing:lol: But I don't want no stinking flounders:lol: I want snook and redfish and baracuda:thumbsup: Perhaps a tarpon or two;). We have flounder as well, tasty little buggers, but not really a worthy sport fish. Sorry dude. Plus the crowds would drive me totally nuts. We also have the flounders big brother up here. Halibut! Yummmy!!!

Most of those fish are getting thin this time of year. There is a guy here that runs the "Tarpon Express" that catches big big a**...well Tarpon. You haven't had Flounder till you've had stuffed flounder. Mmmmmm. Ok ya, I gotta get my pole and get outta here.

With the weather now an earth shattering low of 60dF I may head out for flounder again. I'm hopeing there will be a smaller crowd next time I go out. Last time it started nice but filled up quickly.

Unfortunately, the only tale I have is that of two goldfish. I didn't really catch them, but they came with the aquarium . But that was years ago. Guess I'm gonna have to head out soon and catch up ;)

I still havent located an update on this story yet so Im wondering if they have made it an official world record largemouth bass. It was caught back in March of 2006 at Dixon Lake in California.

It weighed 25.1 pounds!

The reason it was contested because it was said to have been foul hooked and some controversy surrounding it a couple days prior. Look at this bass none the less...
