The Discovery Channel is an amazing station. It really is. The amount of quality documentary programming that they have is great for us viewers.
The always bring interesting content, and most importantly, even if it's a boring topic, they make it interesting . Adam and Jamie are hilarious

Well put Jo:thumbsup: It's been Mars month I guess, and I've been pretty much glued to the TV (when I can). Geeek! Yup. If it's about space, the ocean, or nature. I'm a total sucker:lol:

I've been watching "Man vs. Wild" lately. Great show. I feel bad for the camera man. This guy get air dropped into different locations (Panama rain forest, the plains of Africa etc.) and shows how to survive on the land. He's was in Africa and came up on some lionesses. Very tense. All the while the camera man is like oooohhhhh shit!! Awesome show.

I was watching that today. He is a nut:eek: Way more hard-core than Survivorman. I've seen a few episodes. When he builds a bridge over the river out of bamboo() and the thing slams down and disintegrates:lol: DOH!! He was some Royal Air force Commando or something:wonder: The shit he eats make me want to puke:sick: But I guess if you HAVE to survive:rolleyes::lol:

Another show I'll be looking forward to watching is "Planet Earth." It shows alot of things like caves and ocean features etc. that are largley unexplored or unique.
That and "Cities of The Underworld" on the Hisotry channel. I've watched several of those.

Planet Earth is unbelievable. The whole series is a masterpiece really. And my favorite documentarian, David Attenborough is the cherry on top. I keep meaning to get me copies on DVD. I really couldn't put my finger on a favorite episode. 'Shallow Seas' maybe:wonder:

Salty, did you watch the Star Racer show they had on Discovery about a year ago?
The Canadian Discovery channel ran an American Idol style reality show, where they got contestants from various forms of racing around Canada, took them to Mt Tremblant for racing school and the winner got a ride with one of the top Star Mazda teams.
I knew a number of the drivers on that series. I also tried to get on it myself, but was rules ineligible for some reason. (I was probably too good)

You should be able to pick them up at any rental outlet. I might have to pick a couple of them up on my way home from the mechanics:D If I know you, you'll be impressed. Let us know what you thought:thumbsup:
There are 12 episodes altogether;
From Pole to Pole
Mountains
Freshwater
Caves
Deserts
Ice Worlds
Great Plains
Jungles
Shallow Seas
Seasonal Forests
Ocean Deep
The Future
They are all exceptional. It took the BBC more than 3 years just to film Great Plains.

Suuure you were:rolleyes: I know I can always count on your modesty.
Yes, I did see some of it. Paul Tracy did a pretty good job of hosting that show too:thumbsup:. He was such a hardass on people when they messed up:lol: Did anyone make anything out of their stint on the show that you know of?

Devin Cunningham, the winner, raced in the Star Mazda series last year, and drove reasonably well.
The guy who was 2nd, Manderino or something, also got a ride in Star Mazda and did quite well. He won a couple of races last year.

I'm watching "Fearless Planet" which is very cool. They're in the Sahara showing evidence of how the desert used to be ocean and how meteors hit it (as desert) and caused the sand to form into glass etc. Very cool show.

I watched that last week. Very cool. I was shocked at how much debris was still around after all those years. What a cool job! I think:wonder::lol:

This Sunday at 9pm eastern time (US) there will be a show on called "Dinosaurs return to life?" Where they try to clone a dinosaur Jurassic Park style only for real. Should be a very interesting show!!

I get to see discovery from time to time when it's free. Here it's sold in a bundle of channels where every other is pure crap so I don't bother. Love the mythbusters too. ;)

I'm not sure if this was screened on the Discovery channel.
The programme showed us what the world would look like without us.
