Lewis Hamilton is set to move to Switzerland. He has stated that he loves the UK but can no longer function there. He can't go out without being mobbed and said "I go into (a public) restroom and people follow me in for autographs"
Pretty crazy. I'm sure that didn't help his concentration any in the last few races.
In other news, a street in his home town is to be renamed in his honor.

If he doesn't like it I'll trade places with him. He can be a poor student and I'll be a rich McLaren driver, getting mobbed by fans, many of whom are of the female variety.:)
And I'm sure the fact that Switzerland is a tax haven for racing drivers played no part in this decision.

Well i'm sure that the reason for his move is not the fans always over him, the reason is taxes, that is what i think so

That might change soon :wonder:. A lot of us don't like the fact that they are not bound to the same tax regulations as regular Swiss citizens. The topic has been dead as of late though.

Hehe , good question. I don't know, I don't think his father will 'live' there, but as his manager and father he'll probably play golf in Hamilton's backyard

Tax? In Switzerland? I thought you folks just brought home the big fat paychecks and then once a year went to the tax office with some spare change.
Our income tax is at 30%.

Yea, right  What movie did you see that in? We pay taxes too, but it doesn't reach 30% that's true. The Swiss tax system is a bit complicated, and it varies from canton to canton. But to give you number, it's usually somewhere in the range of 21%
