While commenting on the McLaren appeals Bernie made a suprising statement. He has warned the FIA that reversing the title decision and awarding Hamilton the title would put the sport in such ill-repute that he has threatened to "retire" from the sport.
"Ecclestone believes that to reverse the title result on a technicality would be bad for F1, however – and has even threatened to retire from the sport if it happens."
As much as I want Kimi to be the champ, it would almost be woth it to have Bernie out!!

Bernie is a dinosaur, but I'd like to see Max Mosley to retire instead, he is the one who is doing more harm in F1. Bernie has done exceptional work to make F1 what it is today, a multi billion industry with over 1 billion fans over the globe. I'm pretty sure that FIA doesn't have the guts to take the title away from Kimi. Williams and BMW might lose their constructor points they got from the last race, but I think the results for Brazil will stand.

I had to vote no because I think taking Kimi's title would seal it for him and he would be out of the sport soon after. I think it would tarnish Hamilton's career as well. It may hurt F1 for a while, but more so the 2 drivers involved. There is enough at stake with the recent spy scandals. I would still like to see both Mad Max, and Berniesaur go on and let new leadership take F1 to the next phase.

Ahhhh. Hadn't seen that. It looks like they took his words for much more than he meant. I can tell he was frustrated though. As long as he doesn't start being a whinny cry baby or get too cocky, I think he'll have a great future. I like the guy but he might make it easy for people not to.

I liked Hamilton very much at the start of the season when he always had something funny or different to say at the press conference. About in the half point of the season he dropped into the mould of 'Thanks to the team and mechanics they made great job today, thanks to vodafone, thanks to boss, mobil, etc etc' FULL BS!

Well Media is like that only.. you say just abcd and they print upto A-Z. Agreed about lewis, he is a good driver and he should avoid being a cry baby. It will be interesting to see 2008 season how the drivers perform w/o TC n stuff.

We better get back on track. I'm afraid to see what Max and Bernie are going to come up with after the next season. The way these guys are going, the teams will have to use 1987 series chassis with 4cyl. engines that fun on steam, but will have energy recovering brakes and will be driven by remote.

i agree bernie has done a great job, on the other hand, i would like to see max leave.
i dont beleive that he will retire if the title is taken away from kimi, and i also dont think that lewis has the option to quit.
BS is what they all have in common
