Renault's New Drivers for 2008?

I was reading today that both Kovalinnen and Fisichella will not be at Renault next season !
is this true?
and if so why !?!
surely one of them has a safe seat :confused:

what i believe is It all depends on alonso's return to renault.

If he comes to renault, Kovalainen may goto McLaren as exchange. And Fisi wasnt impressive in renault last yr so his slot will be filled by a rookie (Nelsinho??). But if Alonso comes back he'd like to hv fisi on Renault board as he will not give him a competition like a new rookie :lol:

it will be nice to see who will partner alonso in renault. but if u believe rumors then the deal is stalled between alonso n renault as alonso wants to race for only one year and try his luck in 2009 in a ferrari. where as renault board is saying its either 3 yrs or nothing :rolleyes:

going on Renaults last season i don't think Alonso will be happy with the car (unless he's got a few emails and floppy discs to hand !!!)

for some reason i just don't see alonso and kimi on the same team, if it did happened alonso would probably feel pressured with a teammate just as fast if not faster than him.

It might be aswell Alonso and Massa. Kimi has a contract for 2009 but he has said that his current contract might not be his last one in F1, but atleast Ferrari is the last team he will drive for.

You can't always count on a rookie not being competition either. Renault is interested in Nelson Piquet Jr. and Alonso so that could end up as your 2008 lineup. Fisico would be better suited for Alonso's ego because he isn't a threat and that is well known already. As far as Kimi/Alonso I don't think so. I mean There were enough problems with Hamilton (who didn't win the title) would you think that it would be better with Kimi (who has won a title)? No way. Even if Kimi was on his way out, he's still the fastest driver on the grid. If Alonso doesn't stop hopping from team to team he's going to find himself playing PS3 F1 at home instead of in a car. :rolleyes:

From what I've heard Alonso is not very happy with the Renault offer. He's looking for a transitional year, and Renault want him longterm. It's a very logical thing for Briatore to do.

I don't think Alonso has faith in Renault anymore. Which is why I doubt he is going to go back. Maybe Red Bull? If that's the case, then since when did contract-breaches become so popular :lol:
