After 2 Championships in WSBK, and now the move to MotoGP, the 27 year old Sheffield born, James Toseland received the BBC's Yorkshire Sports personalitly of the Year Award.

Now he's been short-listed for the main BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2007. The award, won previously by John Surtees of GP fame as well as drivers, Nigel Mansel, Jackie Stewart, Damon Hill and Sterling Moss.

Tomorrow you can call in your votes to the BBC on Sports Personality of the year. Others up for nomination include, Lewis Hamilton, Ricky Hatton (who's fighting this weekend:wonder:) and a two rugby WC players from the England team.

Even though Toseland might deserve to win the award, there is not doubt that Hamilton will take it. The amount of publicity his F1 debut has generated is incredible

Hehe , well surprisingly Hamilton did not get it in the end. British boxer Joe Calzaghe picked it up with a clear majority of 29% of the vote .

Calzaghe has been world champion in the super middleweight boxing category for the past ten years.
