The FIA said it intends to sue the Sunday Times for libel after Brundle accused the governing body of witch-hunt against McLaren in a column published in September.Brundle's response:

"It is a warning sign to other journalists and publications to choose their words carefully over that decision.
I'm tired of what I perceive as the 'spin' and tactics of the FIA press office, as are many other journalists.
I expect my accreditation pass for next year will be hindered in some way to make my coverage of F1 more difficult and to punish me. Or they will write to ITV again to say that my commentary is not up to standard despite my unprecedented six Royal Television Society Awards for sports broadcasting. So be it.

Personally I think this is one of the worst things the FIA can do. How fascist-like is this?

He has a point. I mean if they found Renault pretty much guilty of the same thing McLaren was guilty of then the punishment should be the same OR they should repeal the punishment (the money part) for McLaren. I see the point of curbing a new trend BUT this replaces it with a trend of unfairness.

(For those of you overseas, that's an American soap-opera:rolleyes:)

I agree. Fascists!! Suck it up buttercup! You're driving the credibility of the sport into the ground! It's a spit in the face to the fans of the sport:mad: Ummm helloooo! You wouldn't have your multi-million dollar 'hobby' without the support of FANS. Intelligent fans understand when someone is tossing them a load of shit:mad: Viva la journaliste! [sic]

The least they could have done was put them at the back of the pit lane with McLaren.

Yea, the whole thing is ridiculous. I still do not understand why Renault did not get punished

Martin Brundle was also quoted as saying he'd probably lose his press credentials over this! Way to fight the power Martin!
