I am hoping to get some input from our Australian and British friends :D
The car is 2008 Chevrolet Lumina CR8, only 150 cars built for 2008 by Chevrolet Special Vehicles CSV.

The car will spend the winter in the Middle East and the rest of the year in the UK.
Is there a similar car in Australia?
Is it wise to have this 6.0L 400 HP car in the UK?
The car costs $50,000 USD (But I am not paying that much)
BTW I already have the 2006 model of this car for racing only.
Thanks,

I can't get the site to work Fahad:(
The car sounds impressive though. I wanted to see some more pics inside and out. How much different is the CR8 from your current race car? (other than the usual safety vs. luxury mods;))

Try to go to http://www.chevroletarabia.com
My 2006 is a different generation of the Lumina CR8.
The 2006 is powered by LS1 5.7L, the new one is powered by LS2 6.0L, plus it's a totally different car.
Check the spec and photos of the car, I think it's very interesting.
General Motors told me it handles better than the Corvette ZO6, which really made me excited. They also say it's faster than my race car at the track.
Can't wait to drive it.
BTW check the photo of the engine, I like how they put the power graph :D

Yep pretty much the exact same thing but i dont know if it has a 400hp motor in it.
In Australia they are called Holden VE.

The 6.0L engine available in the Corvette C6 and all Holden cars.
I found this in Wikipedia.
E-Series Clubsport R8 are exported to the Middle East as the CR8 from Chevrolet Special Vehicles (CSV).
You can see at http://www.hsv.com.au

Thanks,
Even though I am not British or Australian, is your mind made up or could you consider something else other than a Chevi? :wonder:

I think I should have mentioned that I have to drive a GM, they are my sponsors :wonder:
Plus I am not looking at it as a $50,000 car, it costs way less than that for me.
My other option is Chevrolet Lacetti with serious modifications, WTCC style :D

You can't get a Vette?

I am not used to two seaters cars, and I can't imagine myself driving a Corvette in the UK.
Plus the Corvette starts at $50,000 for the basic model and I won't get a good price on it.
The sales of the Vette are doing well, but not for the Lumina CR8, that's why I am getting a very good price on it to help in marketing.
Also we need the Lumina for training for the remaining of our current season, until April.
So the Lumina CR8 is very important for me only from now 'till April.
We are trying to get the car only for this duration, then I might consider a different GM car, a Vette or Lacetti. (It highly depends on my 2008 European season)
Will keep you posted, I should decide within a week.
Thanks,

Ahhh, makes sense. It's a pretty sweet car. I'd love to have one myself. If the deal is right then go for it.
