Looks very good

But they probably beefed it up quite a bit (like the Merc in F1). Do you have any specs for it? :wonder:

Well, today was the unveiling of the new 2008 Indy 500 Pace car. As stated, it will driven by Emerson Fittipaldi. He is scheduled to travel to the corvette assembly plant and sign the armrest of the replica cars. There are 500 cars to be made.

The only specs I could find as of now are this...

Choice of six-speed manual or six-speed paddle-shift automatic transmissions
LS3 small block V8 with 436 hp
New-for-2008 forged chrome five-spoke aluminum wheels
Corvette Z06 rear spoiler
Silver checkered flag graphics
Indy 500 logo fender badges

The giant E85 ETHANOL decals kinda gave it away for me:D.

As for 'production' Vettes, I couldn't see why not:confused: And if you have the $$:greedy:, anything is possible.

*They had a picture of the two in my local paper today. Not much of a write-up though:rolleyes: But they did say it was a Concept (E85 Vette). So don't go cashing in your empties quite yet:lol::greedy:

None of the production Vettes run it AND ethanol is a big deal to Indy cars (since they run on it) so it's conceivable that it could have been the equivalent of a big IRL banner or John's house of Bacon ad. (No such place btw) If the car DOES indeed run E85 that would be sweet and probably the first sports car to run it. (Don't quote me on that though)

That is the only thing I dont like about being in the garage/pit area of an indy car race is that smell of the ethanol burning. Its nasty.

You think that's bad try being in a top fuel pit and there being a fuel leak.:sick: It's like getting hit with tear gas!!:sick::cry:
