South Africa 47.

The young Canuck, Wickens got a P4 on the grid for the Feature Race:D Canada's best qualifying position of the season. He'd quali'd 8th for the sprint. We're currently 13th. overall. Meh. Could be worse:lol:
I'm kinda choked that it won't be televised here:banghead: Not even later in the week. 4 major independant 'sports' networks, plus the CBC, and not one of them has it anytime soon:mad::thumbsdown:

Didn't they run the bio-fuel at this one? Anyone know how that went if so?

They haven't run it yet. It's this weekend. They should actually be getting ready to race as we speak.
And yes, this is a bio-fuel event:thumbsup:
What a gorgeous piece of the world. I've always wanted to visit New Zealand:(

We've been getting live coverage of the qualifying and will have the race live in New Zealand.
The track was like a dust bowl with strong winds and dry grounds for qualifying. All teams left it to as late as possible before setting their times.
Good to see Jonny Reid get pole for the sprint race.:)

I bet the Kiwi's went nuts!:D:thumbsup: It should be a great couple of races:D
What time is it on locally?? I'll have to convert it to PMT:rolleyes:. I think I can watch it on a1gp.com, but not entirely sure. The stream might just be dead because it's not on...

It's from 2pm to 6pm. I hope that they show some of the support races as well. Just a reminder that NZ is in daylight savings time.

Hee heeee! The rookie Wickens snags a second in the feature!!:D Nice work:thumbsup: (Too bad about the DNF in the sprint:() German driver, Christian Vietoris placing the top spot, and France's Loïc Duval bringing up third.
The Kiwi, Jonny Reid, got P1 in the sprint and managed a fourth in the feature. That musta sent the hometown crowd a bit nuts:D:drunk:
I'm still waiting to see the damn thing:rolleyes::banghead::thumbsdown:

Great first race for Reid but he needed luck in the second race to get as far up the order that he did. A lot of racing incidents in both races with the feature race becoming a timed race at the end. Switzerland got done for an early start in the feature race and had problems throughout the rest of the race and that chaned the point standings big time.
Reid knows how to get the crowd on his side both on and off the track.
Top 5 points plus selected countries:
82 New Zealand
80 France
80 Switzerland
65 Germany
59 South Africa
22 Canada (12th)
9 USA (15th)
4 Australia (18th)

The track was classified as being a new track with the changes that were made to it and last years times were not mentioned when I was watching.
The cars seemed to perform well with bio fuels.

they were about a second down from last year but in other NZ categories the change in the track was adding about 2 seconds to the lap times so the biofuel must of performed fairly well
