The time has finally come :D

The new generation of the SL class will be available soon ;)

The new SL models features the AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sports transmission with a new start-up clutch, which runs in an oil bath and replaces a conventional torque converter. With low rotational mass, the start-up clutch helps the transmission respond instantaneously and dynamically with no slip.

The SL63 boasts 538 HP and is priced at 145,000 Euros. Mercedes also brings back the SL65 AMG with a turbocharged V12 that cranks out 604 horsepower with 738 lb-ft of torque, with a minimal extra fee for a total of 221,000 Euros

An optional Performance Package is also available for the SL63 AMG, which includes even higher-performance components that are well suited for sporty-minded drivers:

Vented ceramic front brake discs that are 15.3 inches in diameter
Multi-disc limited-slip rear differential with a 40 percent locking factor of for enhanced traction
19-inch AMG twin-spoke forged light-alloy wheels
Staggered-width tires: 255 / 35 R 19 in front and 285 / 30 R 19 at the rear
AMG high-performance suspension based on ABC active suspension
Smaller AMG sport steering wheel with a flattened underside and silver-aluminum shift paddles
AIRSCARF Around the Head and Neck

This of course replaces my previously favorite car (which happened to be the earlier generation of the SL :D)

I get some sort of american-car-vibe when looking at that, and for me that is a big no-no. But if someone gave me one I wouldn't really mind that much.

Good lawd! That's a lot of $$$! And very, very impressive spec's.

I gotta say I very much in love with the interior. The exterior.. I'm not overly crazy about. You'd think Mercedes would/could/should, go that extra mile to make a 'super-car' at least look more like one:rolleyes:

I love it in comparison to past models. I never liked the front end of the older models.

Giggle. IMo the interioir is not that great, steering wheel looks like a game pad for Nintendo and overall I think it looks like a batmobiles interioir. Love the front grill which they are using in new MB's, looks like one from oldschool 500 and 300 coupes. I think I liked the previous SL more.

Approx $210,300.

Probably not a good time to buy it in the US, with the ongoing weakness. But then again prices are adjusted regularly, so it won't matter

very nice car, i am sure the straight line performance is mind blowing, but if i had the choice, i would get the 55, or the 63.
