Feeling confident, and looking forward to his inaugural MotoGP season, which starts in less than 3 weeks, last years WSBK champ took a spill early Sunday at the Jerez test session.
I braked early to turn into the first corner with a closed throttle and the back of the bike came round and threw me off.
It was almost as though I'd hit a puddle, but the track was clear and it was simply the result of a cold tyre.
It's a disappointing end to what has been an otherwise very successful test, but I'm remaining focused on the future and looking forward to the first race in Qatar.
He was taken to hospital for x-rays on Sunday, which fortunately turned up as nothing broken, but a very strained ankle.
