ALMS from St. Pete FLA 2008

This weekend brings a WHOLE LOT of good racing. F1, WSBK, IRL, DTM, GP2, LMES, and ALMS. I don't know how I'm gonna watch it all but I hope to catch the ALMS race for sure.

The Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg returns to the fast and demanding 1.8-mile, 14-turn temporary street circuit along the St. Petersburg waterfront for the second time after an impressive and competitive debut a year ago. Now celebrating its 10th season, the Series has competed on a total of eight street venues in its history. St. Petersburg was one of three new ones in 2007 along with Long Beach and Belle Isle in Detroit.

Not such a good day for AGR. Early spin and they go down a lap to start. One Audi crashed due to stupidity. :rolleyes: Great battle up front between the remaining LMP1 Audi and the LMP2 Penske Porsche. It's crazy to see the LMP cars flying by the GT cars like they're standing still. There were a bunch of caution periods that slowed some of the action but also kept the battles close. The 2nd Penske Porsche went a lap down early but was able to do some strategy and recover and battle back to P4 overall in a great battle to the line. The Audi wins overall with the Porsche right behind. Overall a great race and a great result for Penske (2nd and 4th overall 1st and 3rd in class). Glad to see my Audi take the win!! :D
