Well, I did it. Im starting my own radio show. It took some time but its ready to go now. Im broadcasting from the University that I work at's radio station, 89.7 FM.
The show is called " Pit Lane ". It will air on Sunday evenings at 8:00pm. This Sunday will be the premiere show. The show's primary focus will be on IndyCar and NASCAR but all forms of racing are welcome. It is an hour long. The show consists of the weekend's race highlights, driver & team news, interviews, and the best part, where the listeners call in and give their opinions and views on racing. We also plan on having contests too.
A friend of mine will be co-hosting the show with me. He is older than me so he has the memories, stories, and first hand knowledge of racing before I do and he loves IndyCar as much as I do ( I didnt know if that was possible:lol: ). He already razzed me during a couple demos we done about my love of Danica and how she whines a lot, so it should be a fun show.
I hope this show catches on and gets popular. Who knows where this could go. Even if it just stays local, it will be a lot of fun doing it.

If you can you should podcast it as well. Then you can upload it to Apple or whatever. If you can record the show you can upload it to the web later.

The station manager was talking about that. I will definitely try that. That way I could get a larger audience too.

Cool. I listen to podcasts etc. at work since listening to the same things makes me tired. You better toss in a WRF pitch or 2.:lol:

Not at this time. Its a small university and it can only be heard in this county and surrounding counties. Thats why we are talking about podcasting on the web to gain more coverage.
Dunk, as for GMT, its 8pm Eastern here when it starts so Im not sure what GMT would be.

Unfortunately, no news on the internet part of it yet. The station manager wasnt there last week for me and him to discuss.
We have started doing some advertising now.
Oh, and thanks Blazing Lion.

This is great, I like media business. It's where the money is.
Will you announce my NASCAR career debut? :D
BTW: will send you some VIP tickets for my race when it comes to your state. It's NOT A BRIBE.

Im still doing the show weekly. Its a lot of fun. It is a small station at the University so the on-line capabilites are still in the making unfortunately.:(
My co-host got a copy of a couple of our shows to give to a station manager of a much bigger station to listen to. Im hoping he likes what he hears and maybe gives us a chance to do it there. I will have to wait and see.
But I have mentioned this forum on the show.

I have some friends who do a variety of internet radio shows weekly, their shows stream in .pls format for listening in Media player or Winamp, although media player requires a plugin to be able to play .pls files. They archive their shows on their website for later listening if they can't be listened to live. They do racing related shows and a variety of other shows. They also use Skype for listeners calling into the show, but they do get their share of wackjobs from Skype.
Best of luck with it. I'm sure I'll listen in at some point if time allows.

As a big fan of talk radio, that's the best part:lol:
You taking notes DR? Maybe you need an audio guy;)
I think he's just to modest to post any of the stuff he has:whistling:
