Having a go at a drag strip isn't even close to racing and doesn't require much skills.

Drifting on the other hand requires much skill and is a good test of how good your car control is, even though it's not the best way to set the fastest lap time. It's very popular in Japan where they have plently of drifting races.

I'm not going to say that drag racing has alot of skill BUT it does require SOME. In a REAL drag car, you have to properly heat the tires, lay down the power without too much wheel spin, and lastly keep the car straight. Think Top Fuel Dragster. 300+ mph in 1/4 mile. You gotta get thousands of HP to actually "hook up" AND keep her straight.

And btw, I don't like drag racing much either.

personally i prefer drifting.

Every rear wheel drive car i drive, i try drifting it, even if it is less than 100hp
I do find plenty of joy to take a car sideways in control and sometimes even out of control.
