This weekend the Nordschleife was packed with cars for the ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen. Around 200 cars in lots of different classes.

Overall winners were Timo Bernhard, Marc Lieb, Romain Dumas and Marcel Tiemann in a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and they managed 148 laps.

Here's a video of practice highlights.

The flying Aston Martin is AWESOME.

My coach crashed in his black Alfa after five minutes of his race.

My coach crashed in his black Alfa after five minutes of his race.

Only 23:55 to go! :D

Anyway, it must be a complete pain in the *** to drive one of the faster cars with this much traffic on track as it is during the 24h. I found this clip of Richard Göransson preparing the BMW Z4 for the 24h at the VLN 4 hours... just look at all the annoying traffic!

That flag was clearly visible, I'm very surprised that he missed it.

That said I one time missed the meat-ball flag for like 4 consecutive laps.:banghead:

Ryan,

Careful now .. I'm watching :)

Remember that the video camera is further back, with a wider FOV and is more central than me. The 2 cars I let by had blocked my view as I approached the corner and when the flag gets visible on the video I am already looking into the corner (bit quick there :))

Wouldn't have been so bad in a 20 minute sprint but we still had 22.5hrs to go :( so still feel pretty bad about it but as everyone keeps telling me (and I keep telling my bank manager/wife) "That's Racing!"

I also noticed that the original crash video didn't get the YouTube HQ treatment so have reposted in a suitable format : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=I94E-nAlbIk
