Sorry DR, but I was ready to talk about the next race, so I thought I would take it upon myself to start the new thread.

I have several questions after Indy.

Can Miera, and Panther racing really keep it going?

Can Dixon start a run like he and Franchitti had last year?

How will the CC teams do on a short oval, especially after a month of practice on ovals? (I was disappointed that they didn't do better at Indy).

Can Castroneves end up winning the championship without winning a race?

Finally how will things play out in the AGR camp?

Dont be sorry.;)

I love Milwaukee, the fast mile track. It should be interesting. There are 27 entries for this race. That is a full track!

If Scott Dixon wins this race, he will be the first driver to win at Indy and at Milwaukee since Juan Pablo Montoya did it back in 2000.

Tony Kanaan has won this race 2 years in a row. Think he can make it 3?

Dont worry, Danica will take 1st prize in this race.:D

A couple of the Champ Car boys should have experience with this oval. Wilson, Junqy, Servia and Power have raced here in Champ Car.

And I wonder if the short oval track would translate more to a street course?

Well, suprisingly, Graham Rahal had the fastest practice time at Milwaukee. It was a speed of 166.560. Scott Dixon was 2nd with a speed of 166.110.

Danica Patrick was 17th fastest with a speed of 162.053.

Well, qualifications are over. Kudos to Marco for winning the pole. He just collected a check for $50,000!

Marty Roth did not qualify due to a wreck in practice. Vitor Meira will start in last position due to a crash on his qualifying attempt. Im really suprised at how well the former ChampCar drivers did. Good job.

It could of been a better run for Danica. She isnt getting the speed out of her car so far.

Here is your starting grid..

If you look at the set up of the cars, the cars are set up more like they would be for a road course. The way I can tell is the way the front wing looks.

I think that the quickness of the course, with so many turns, helps the Champ Car guys more with understanding what they can do. I also understand that late, durring their time at Indy, the CC teams got a lot of part that can make their cars much better. NHL actually has a spare car finally (imagine that). This series is getting closer to one series, and I am still hopeful that it will happen by the end of the year. You will know it has happened if a CC driver wins on one of the bigger ovals (1.5 or larger)

I'm a bit surprised seeing Justin Wilson that far back though, one would think he would be one of the quickest ex Champ Car guys at Milwaukee as he's been on the podium here in the past.

Hopefully he will be up to speed in the race.

Well just got done with the race, and Ryan Briscoe won!:finishfirst: Look out WRF DR is going to be pissed off!

Danica finished, but was never a factor.

The race ended in yellow because Marco Andretti is an idiot.:banghead: It was setting up to be a great finish. Briscoe vs. Dixon; Penske vs. TCGR; 5 laps to go through traffic, and very close racing sure to come. Awesome ending ready to happen, and then Marco Drives his car up into the wheels of, (someone who I simply don't like, so I would love to give him the blame if he deserved it), Ed Carpenter. Those cars crash, Miera goes Flying over Marco's car, (monster truck style), and the race ends under yellow with the safety car out.

Marco Andretti is quickly becoming public enemy #1 for me. The Pagoda on Indycar.com has already identified him as that for crashing TK last week and now this.

If you didn't understand from my previous comments Graham Rahal also Crashed out. He got in the marbles for the second week in a row. He really needs to stop doing that.

Despite what could have been a great ending, and the spectacular crash, I really thought this was a boring race overall.

ESPN/ABC's coverage was horrible. The driver interviews looked like poorly dubed over Japanese Kung Fu movie, the angles they shot made the race hard to follow on TV, and most of the racing action took place off camera.

I still have no idea what happened to Will Power? He started 4th, but wasn't mentioned after about 30 laps.

The good news. Next week is Texas, which is one of the best races I look forward to every year.

On a completely seperate note. I will put it out there to the forum.

Has the Milwaukee Mile's time come and past?

It was great to see the croud support, but the racing, (to me) wasn't that great.

It has too small of pit stalls, it is a venue that aparently causes major marbles problems. I don't know if Indy car is in a position to say something like this, but if they can't get their problems corrected, and update/renovate the track, I don't think Indy should go back there.

I love the tradition of the track, and the race, but it may be time to move forward. What do people think?

The pit stalls are small but I love the track. Its even a couple years older than Indy. Its obvioulsy not near as nice or prestiguous as Indy obviously but its a fun track. I think it provides for good racing.

And Killernut, what are you impressed about ??

I personally enjoyed the race. I always love Indy races. Was it the best and most exciting, no but it was still fun to watch.

It was overall a clean race except the end when Marco and Ed carpenter got into it which sent Vitor flying over Marco's car. Good thing no one was hurt. Vitor didnt have a good weekend this weekend.

I am really impressed with Oriol Servia. I look for him to do well the rest of this season and next. I also think EJ Viso is doing quite good. He is learning the ovals pretty darn good.

Yes, Graham Rahal crashed again by getting into the marbles. It's a rookie mistake but Im sure his dad has strongly emphasized now about it. He had a fast car all weekend.

Kudos to Ryan Briscoe for winning the race. Luckily for him, there was a yellow because I dont think he could of held Scott Dixon off for the remainder of the race. Scott was closing fast!

Unfortunately for Danica, she just didnt have a fast car this weekend. After starting 13th and getting a lap down in the race, she still finished a respectable 9th spot and she gained a spot in the points race. There is always this weekend in Texas where Im sure she will shine.:D

I got to watch this race on the pretty useless IndyCar.com video feed with just follows the leader and with the IndyCar radio network. Fortunately the last crash happened just in front of Ryan Briscoe, so I actually got to see it. Otherwise it was just shots of Scott Dixon all the time.

I had hopes of seeing it streamed, but the channels I was told would broadcast it had either US Figure Skating World Championships or a re-run of the Indy 500.

It's great that Ryan finally had some success. He won the F3 Euroseries in 2003 and was really destined for F1 fame with Toyota, but never got further than than a test seat. I think he was worth a couple of races at least. But Toyota obviously liked paying Ralf Schumacher enormous amounts of money instead.

DR-I was impressed that you didn't rally against the guy that took your girl out last week.

Ralph Schumacher is a funny dude, to anyone that didn't get screwed over by him.

I am also looking forward to Texas, and I would agree that Texas is a track that DP could actually do very well at. It seems to set up well for her, Meira, and as always the TCG cars. Vision will also be up there.

I think this will probably be the last track this year that the Transition drivers struggle at.

The only thing that pisses me off is I tried to figure out a way to get to this race, but I couldn't find a flight that makes sense. I will go to this race eventually. This is one of the specticals of the series. Too bad it is on at 10pm @ night eastern. People should be able to see this.

Well KillerNut, I was very upset she got taken out but I have always liked Briscoe and I still do. It's an unfortunate incident that comes with racing. It's going to happen to everyone at some point. Bad luck is going to happen.
