The 70 year old Andersson of Sweden, and former Panasonic Toyota Principal for '02 and '03, was killed this morning while competing in the Milligan Vintage Trial in South Africa. The classic car he was driving suffered a head on collision with a truck around a blind corner.

Ove led Toyota to 4 team and 3 constructors championships in WRC, and a second in the ’99 24 hours of Le Mans. A rally driver himself in the 60's and 70's, he won the '71 Monte Carlo Rally, '72 European championship, and his first WC race, the Safari Rally of '75.

A great man in the racing world. He will be sorely missed:(.

May he rest in peace. I would have liked to see him succeed in his previous role at Toyota, but the management decided to take him off :(
