Just discovered this forum so thought i'd post some onboards i've just uploaded to YouTube.

It's my first time at the track. Some British drivers had been invited over by the Dutch MX5 racers to take part in 4 races over the weekend 14-15 June.

We were expecting 15 mins free practice but this had to be shelved owing to time constraints. I followed one of the other British guy for 2 laps which helped get the general line, just started to push and the chequer came out so just got 2 clear laps in. A 2:18 put me in 5th or 6th, the other British guys who had raced here lots, including 12hr enduros, has qualified 1 & 2 with 2:14s. I don't own the car, it is just a rent-a-drive but had driven it before in the UK.

Got a great start in Race 1 and chased the other Brits for the rest of the race, faster in parts but didn't know the track well enough to chance an overtake.

2nd race much the same, 3rd behind the other 2 Brits but no video for that one.

Race 3 was Sunday and was determined to do better. Good start and easily staying with the leading two when I had a re-occurance of a rear brake lockup problem causing a number of slides and a big off at the 80mph Skyflok (not proper spelling) corner. Finished 5th or 6th.

Race 4, long way behind the other Brit guys and dropping into one of the other classes. Good start and battled back to 3rd again. Now up to speed on those fast corners and set the fastest lap but just too far behind the other Brits.

I put the camera in one of the other British drivers cars for race 4. A good tussle early on but once leading and safe was not much action.

Some good scraps in front on the earlier videos, especially between and MX5 and a slick-shod White Alfa Guileta (spelling?). The Alfa almost wipes the MX5 out in race 3, part 1 @ 3:20

The MX5s are similar spec to US Miatas, standard engines (130bhp-ish) and they run on road tyres (Toyo T1-Rs). Min Weight inc driver is 960kg.

Videos are all inc. Race Technology DL1 Data Overlay via Trackvision Software.

Salty,

Yes, thanks for the welcome. I found the forum via a referring link on my Nurburgring 5 minute race (aka Nurburgring 24hr) YouTube vid.

Wasn't sure if these vids would be of interest here but TBH spent so long creating and uploading them that I thought at least I should tell a few more folks about em.

Like the forum and will be stopping by from time to time and if I have anything to contribute I will.

 Maxx
