iPhone 2.0 with More Features and Cheaper: Who's Buying?

Now that they have slashed the price and added the 3G option, the iPhone is a bargain to say the least. The software has also been improved and the list of available applications is extensive.

Only drawback is of course the camera, which at 2 megapixel no longer reflects competitive standards :wonder:

Who here already owns or plans to go grab one on July 11?

I just got the new Motorola Z8 phone. It has all the latest gadgets. Its not a touch screen though. Its the hinged slider phone. It has the fastest download speeds(3g), fastest video player, etc out right now on a phone. It can take up to either 4 or 8 gb memory card as well. It too has a 2mp camera.

So I wont be grabbing the new iphone. Wonder what the price of the iphones will go to ?

Thats what I paid for my phone. Not a bad price at all. Its unlocked so I have no contract. My provider is AT&T still though. I have such a good rate locked in with them since Ive been with them so long, I have never switched carriers.

I was going to get one on the 11th but I can't have a camera at my current job so I'm going to wait till Sept. You can get one for the old price with no contract too. I don't think I'll be doing that. I already use AT&T so it's no biggie to sign up for 2 more years.

Went and played with the iPod 3G today. SWEET!!! Everything seems very natural and easy to use. The keyboard is easy to use. The WRF comes up REAL NICE on it. I managed to add a direct link to the forum on the home screen at the AT&T store. Hehehehe Oh anf the embedded youtube shows up really nice. It opens in a dedicated youtube player, fullscreen. :cool:

I was going to grab one myself but decided against it for now. Maybe in a month or two when the hype has settled a bit and all components are stable.

I love MOST of it. Everyting ON this phone is great. It's the few things that aren't that are annoying though.

1) No MMS. This means no...uhm....."pics" from girls or to them etc. (How the hell am I supposed to txt flirt now?? Seriously I totally use this)

2) Bluetooth only connects to a headset. I know, most of you only need that if even that. I however am one of those that will use every last bit of tech to it's fullest. I use bluetooth to file share between my phone and either other phones of my computer or whatever. I should be able to send a pic to another phone via bluetooth or sync my iTunes that way or whatever.

3) Can't fwd txts. I get jokes from people I might want to forward on to a few peeps. Can't. Gay

4) No video. (Well that's all I need to say there)

5) No im clients. No Google talk app, no Yahoo IM app = no way are you kidding?? I CAN DL AIM though. So idk why not the others. At least Google is so forward thinking that they have a web based IM client designed for Google talk on the iphone and it's close enough to an app. I NEED Yahoo IM. That's where all the ladies that I need the MMS are!!

iPhone issues......not many BUT Safari crashes quite easily. I try replying to a post here and bam, crash. They say that restarting the phone helps and it does. I don't know if this is due to the lack of a proper "end program" style close of an app or what.

Make sure you get a case for it. I like my DLO jam jacket and it came with screen protectors.

Around me is nice (and free) It takes you GPS location and tells you (by category) things near you (such as coffee, pubs, hospitals, etc.) Pandora (free) is nice. Labryinth, Numba, Cardshark (free) and To Do's (free) are all apps I recommend. To Do's is a free to do list app. can be useful. you can also just use notes which is built in. Pandora is a radio thing. (Talked about in the internet radio thread) the others are games. Cardshark is free and has 1 and 3 draw solitare, 1 and 2 suit spider solitare, and freecell. Love it. Numba will cost you HOURS of your free time lol.
