Apparently, the FIA has received complaints regarding Ferrari's rear wing elasticity. FIA regulations strictly prohibt the rear wing from being elastic, because it is more prone to breaking off than its static counterpart.

Charlie Whiting has inspected the rear wing already and has given a green light for the race. But the other teams will certainly not back down, as Symonds has indicated. He explained he knows exactly how Ferrari's rear wing system works, and says that, though it may still be legal, defeats the purpose of rules.

I'm sure we'll see more of that, but I'm glad Ferrari was caught early on :D (red handed :lol: :lol: )

In all probability they are bending the rules but nobody in the FIA is going to chastize Farrari :evil: they never have and never will :roll: will they :?:

Now the FIA is wondering how Renault was able to figure out that Ferrari has specifications in its rear wing that allow for certain flexibility.

In any case, I hope the FIA refines its rear wing test to ensure that all teams "meet the spirit" of the rules in question, as Symonds has pointed out :evil:

The funny thing now is, Renault are also being investigated for their own rear wing flexing too much :lol:

Not to mention that the regulations read: "No flexible devices are allowed" but we all saw how those Renault mirrors were jumping up and down... Trying to point what is "strange" in the other cars, but avoiding to look at theirs first.

Also, anyone here remembers how the front wing of the McLaren used to bounce all the way through the circuit during 2005, or the "misterious" rear wing failure for Kimi at Nurburgring 2004?

All the teams do that... is just the media that got excited when the car is painted in red.

I'm not too sure about that.

Every team probably has an designated individual who's job it is to "catch someone in the act". And if the audience noticed a moving wing with Kimi's car previously, then team officials would have noticed it.

And Ferrari is known to make a big thing out of everything.

But now it quieted down somewhat, so we'll see what happens :shock:

Now they even sent a formal complaint to Charlie Whiting about Ferrari's myserious rear wing.

Apparently Honda has clear evidence that shows that Ferrari uses a flexible rear wing. We'll see what happens, but I think, given Willis' and Fry's experience, they won't waste their time if it's not true. 8)

But apparantly, Charlie already replied that one, claiming that the tests they passed on Melbourne were enough.

On the other hand, the technical report of the scrutenees at San Marino doesn't mention anything about the wings, so there *might* be something there...

Unfortunately, according to german sources, Renault and Honda were under investigation at Imola before the race for the flexibility on their wings, but it seems that one of them had the temple of going out asking to review their rivals who, by the way, don't created a mess of their own on the pits... It is not that I want to be a cynic but... could this be a smoke cloud to remove some weight from its shoulders after the "competent-incidents" they had at Imola? I mean, is Honda complaining, but Renault and McLaren had been very quiet, and considering that Flavio Briatore is the first guy to call "foul" when things don't go his way, and that Ron Dennis is not a "red admirer" at all, well... it makes you think about the validity of the point of Mr. Fry.
