    New to BATracer

    Hi,

I am new to BATracer. Have just created an account, seems like an interesting game. But I have not understood the game, I mean how to play, how are the points calculated, what are public and private game etc.
Would be great if someone can help me in this, also if there are any guide available for beginners.

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for the response.
But Batracer site does not have anything for absolute beginners. I want to learn it from the very basic level and want to understand in detail.

If you check the options you'll find a link to The batracer's forum.

At 'help' you'll find links like this

Now I am getting a hang of it. But still have couple of things like:

    1. Difference between Public game and mid season.
    2. How is weather factor for a particular race decided.
    3. Can I play any game any time of the year.

I will have a lots more doubts once I go further in detail.

    Thanks a lot.

    1. Basically a public game is starting a full season and a mid season game is replacing an AWOL driver in another game and resuming where they left off.

    2. The weather is just a very random thing in batracer, some tracks will have more chance of a wet race than others partly due to location.

    3. Yes! Unless of course there is a server problem

Thanks a lot...I really appreciate that....
I do have couple of more..if you dont mind...

I could just join a public group and started with Australian now by itself it has taken me to the malaysian grand prix, is it always like that, or I can choose which race to take part and which not.

When I go to my games, one of game either public or private shows yello [selected] but I have no way to click and go ahead.

In the car setup page whats difference between : Load, save, test and what is experimentation.

I am still not sure how are my practice, qualifying, warmup and race times calculated and in one of the race I had a collision with another driver and was out of the race, how is that possible.

Is there any relation between the real 2008 F1 calendar and the calendar we play.

    Thanks in advance

It is always like that, you have to participate every race of the season.

Not sure what you mean by this?

In the car setup page whats difference between : Load, save, test and what is experimentation.
Load=You can load setups from your team mate, or your own too in case you have "Kool Tools"

Save=You can save setups if you have Kool Tools

    Test=You do a test lap

Experimentation=Level of risk you use in your test lap (0 low - 100 high)

I am still not sure how are my practice, qualifying, warmup and race times calculated and in one of the race I had a collision with another driver and was out of the race, how is that possible.
Your practice and warmup times are calculated by your setup and how close it is to "spot on". In qually there is also the "qualify pace" slider which affects to your time. In race laptimes are affected by your pace, fuel load, setup and tyre wear, just like in real racing.

Collisions? Ever seen a collision in real life racing? This is also affected by your "aggression" and "risk at start" sliders.

Is there any relation between the real 2008 F1 calendar and the calendar we play.
F1 2008 calendar in Batracer is the same as in real world

Just to expand a bit on what Harakimi said:-

If your playing in an F1 season, a race weekend (practice, quali, warmup, race) should last 2 days in real time and you have to wait in the time specified to do your quali or race.

In the My Games section, the game that is selected (highlighted in yellow) is obviously the selected game so instead you go to Office -> Your Desk
