I love the VW Golf V. Sure, I have one, but that's besides the point

Now VW decided to experiment with their car, by putting in the 6.0 Liter W-12 Engine with 650 BHP from the Bentley Continental GT

The result is, of course, incredible. This customized 'show car' will take you from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and if you feel like it, to a top speed of 202 mph (325 kmh).

The engine is mounted longitudinally in the mid-section of the car, so there's no engine under the front hood like the traditional Golf GTI. As for the design, the car is five inches wider and sits three inches lower on four 19-inch alloys.

Wowza!! Now that looks like a hell of a lot of fun! I've had a couple of GTI's in my day, but never one with that much brute force. I couldn't even imagine it.

I was reading about this the other day. Sound like its going to be a lot of fun. At least on paper and its a mean car

The problem is they only made one car of it. It's not meant to go into production

contrary to that I did read that they are thinking about production

It is definitely a concept car right now but VW are actually thinking about a limited release. So we'll have to wait and see

It certainly qualifies for the 'gas guzzler' tax. And I'd set the 'over-under' somewhere around $45,000+US if that's the case. But what do I know
