If a vehicle is stolen and happens to have the onstar system, the police in conjunction with an OnStat operator can reduce the power from the engine thus slowing the vehicle to an eventual stop.

Hehe, that's really slick. Maybe in two years time all vehicles will have this type of technology. As I understand the vehicle slow down is initiated by OnStar. The easiest way for a thief to circumvent that would be to have some kind of signal jammer. I hope OnStar thought of that

There's no shortage of car thieves around here, they have a really slick 'bait-car' program in place. You can watch vid's of the morons getting busted STOOPID!

I can't speak for the rest of the world, but around here, I'm not so sure the theives are that sophistocated as to have signal jammers. If they did they'd probably take them apart to try and sell the copper and gold conductors so they can buy their meth
