What Kind of Bike Would You Buy?

Well I finally rode a real bike Sat. I rode my brother's 2005 Suzuki GSX-R 750. Mind you I already wanted the bike and I also only got it to 30mph in my neighborhood but.....I want one again.

So what kind of bike would you want if you were buying a new bike?

    Suzuki GSX-R 600/750/1000
    Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R/ZX10R
    Yamaha YZF R6/R1
    Ducati 848 / 1098
    Honda CBR 600RR/1100RR

    (2008 model but not mandatory)

Well seeing that the sexy 1098 is totally outta my price range, and frankly, I'd be scared to death to ride it, Ducati now has the 848 And at only 16K US, it's a bargain!

    Engine/transmission: 849cc, V-twin four-stroke with eight valves; 132bhp at 10,000rpm, 71lb ft of torque at 8,250rpm. Six-speed gearbox, chain final drive.

    Performance: top speed 165mph (est).

Not to mention the lovely trademark trellis frame and single sided swing-arm

*I just noticed you put up the 1098 tricolor. Good God that's a lovely bike!

I like the Ducati as well. If $$ were no issue then the Tri-color would be in the garage. ($20k+ on ebay 0nly 150 made in the US) The 2008 model is the only front end I like on these.

More realistic for my budget is the GSXR 600 or 750. Love the bike anyway. I'd prefer the 2005/2006 GSX-R 750 or the 2007 GSX-R 600 in all black.

There is also the Aprilia RSV1000. An incredible piece of machinery.

Engine: V60 Magnesium four stroke longitudinal 60? V twin. Liquid cooling with three way pressurised circuit. Double overhead camshaft with mixed gear/chain drive; four valves per cylinder. Patented AVDC (Anti Vibration Double Countershaft). Euro 3.

    Compression ratio
    11.8 : 1.

    Maximum power at the crank
    105.24 kW (143 HP) at 10,000 rpm.

    Maximum torque at the crank
    10.3 kgm (101 Nm) at 8,000 rpm.

These are very rare here. Hell! I can't eveh find a used 250 that isn't grossly overpriced

Kawasaki Ninjas are the best sport bike so that would be my choice.

Based on??? Not criticizing your choice just not sure why you say they are the best.

Blah, I wish they had left the front of the CBR alone. Last years model was so much better.

The 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R was finally redesigned to look like a real bike too. $3,500 is a decent price for a nice looking starter.

Then there's the Aprilia RSV 1000 (1200 shown) starting at oh...$14k or $18k for the 1000 factory version.

Yes, I find that an astonishing statement myself
Considering that Kawi haven't won a championship of significance in over ten years. Nevermind a World Championship in over 15 years.

It must be the pretty green color then eh?

Kawasaki NINJA was one of the coolest thing I knew when I was about 8, it sure was the best bike in the world (not that I've ever seen one.)

    It's the ninja name, kiai!

Imagine if Ford had named one of their legendary models as Hummingbird.
Or do you remember the Corvette Flounder? Now that was coooool!

Hahaha!! I was in the same boat when I was young too. OOoohhh! A NINJA!! And it's GREEN!! Yeah, at the time it was amazing. I fell in love with the FZR for a similar reason, I loved the lines and style of them. And who could resist the Twin round headlights!?!

Even with a cool name like NINJA, it couldn't win much in the past while, like I said. But they sure as hell sold a pile of 'em!
