    Racing and not

So I will just throw this out there, but if you are here you are either a driver or a fan, or both. I wanted to be a driver for the longest time but then life and some accidents happened (children planned, walking away from two car wrecks not planned). What about the rest of you?

I still love fast cars do not get me wrong, but there is just no way I would feel up to par racing now.

Creg, I'm sorry that you have not been able to indulge in your passion, yet.
Don't give up, you might be able to yet, I was fortunate to race in Europe (France) and when I came to Canada to compete in car rallies and race for a couple of years, but then the kids came along and priorities changed, I still have the urge and would give just about anything to strap myself back into a race car, but at my age the chances of that happening are diminishing every day, I'm not bitter, I have wonderful memories that I will be able to share with my 2 grandsons as they grow older, maybe I will be able to instill some of my passion to them (much to the chagrin of their parents, I'm sure).
But if you're young enough, don't give up on your dream, you might still be able to make it happen.

I am not a racer, I just love to watch racing. Don't get me wrong, I love to drive fast, but the thought of others driving fast scares the crap out of me.

I also have kids, and was in many car accidents as a younger driver. I feel I can get into enough trouble on the road without the help of other drivers.

It's cool if you can race though, if that is what you want to do.

For me, I'm happy sitting in the stands!

I've thought about racing, but looking at the budgets involved it is better to remain a fan and either watch from your armchair or spectate at a circuit.

Thanks for the nice words! Right now I am focusing more on my work and my kids but I do understand that its still something possible in the future but right now I am okay sitting on the side just watching. I am still able to cheer my buddy on who does some ammie races in the state of MD, nothing too fancy but I am still close to the scene, just not front seat.
