    Vacation on a bike?

How many people take vacations on their bikes? My dad wants to head to York, PA this year on the bike. It's only about 6 hours from here. My mom wants to take the car. I don't blame her. I would not want to take a bike on vacation either. I mean where do you put the luggage?

I guess you'd have to pack for your saddle bags.

I don't have a bike, and it would be a hard sell with my wife too, but I can see the appeal of it.

If I had a bike, I don't think I would mind. It would have to be a trip where I didn't need much more than the basics so that I could pack those in a backpack, and then I could just buy anything else I needed while I was wherever I was going. (What's a vacation without a shopping spree? :P)

Yuu don't, you just pull up on the side of the road and lay down on the ground.

I am sure a road trip might be okay, but I doubt I would vacation with a bike, unless of course, I was a good 10 years younger, not a parent and a free loner.

My friend's system works out pretty well for larger family trips. Her and her hubby hop on his Harley and her sister and her hubby drive all the luggage in there truck.

Hotels silly! They would just drive to their vacation spot on the bike. I'm still not into it and I don't think my mom will do for it. I wouldn't have done it 10 years ago.

It would be great to be able to take a vacation on a bike. Some of the really souped up bikes have little luggage compartments. You would have to pack light though.

Whenever you see all the bikes on a run, you usually see trucks behind them carrying the luggage.

It depends, you can either lie on your back or sit on the bike while sleeping.

I wouldn't want to have a vacation on a bike. I need to have a lot of money, which I'm lacking, for the food and lodging while I'm on a bike vacation.

Anyone remember the old TV series called Then Came Bronson? He lived on his motorcycle. That was big adventure show for quite a while.
