    Daredevils

I'm not speaking of the movie but about the people who drive their vehicles through a ramp and landing on the opposite ramp. I have seen bikes and trucks soaring into the air like they are flying when they take off the ramp.

My question is, do these drivers have insurance?

If they do I am sure they are not cheap. Most people who are stunt pro's for a living carry some type of insurance but I have no idea what company would do that. I think I remember hearing that Evil Kenevil could not get insurance at one point too...hmmm, not you got me thinking!

When I was a kid I saw some drivers that were called The Trans-Canada Hell Drivers.

They did stunts like driving on two side wheels and near misses with each other, as I recall.

Does anyone else remember a stunt team like them?

I saw an interview several years ago with a teen freestyle motocross rider. They talked to his mom and she was talking about how important sponsors were, because of insurance problems. If her son got hurt, they were pretty much responsible for the bills.

I think getting a sponsor is the best way to get insured in this line of work if the insurance companies will not give them an insurance.

Speaking of stunts, I read from a magazine that Jackie Chan's premium is so high because of what he is doing in his movies.

I can imagine that's the case with a lot of these athletes, and I think it just sort of underscores the dedication they have to the sport... And maybe in some amateur cases it's the lack of thinking it through.

I couldn't imagine a daredevil or even a stunt double doing their job without insurance - and it's no wonder it costs so much to see them work, because they've got to pay those bills!
