Actually, Toledo47 is a big-car oval fan. So much so, he comes to Canada a few times a year to watch races. I tape the ones he goes to (because they're not on US TV) for a momento when he asks.

    So no, you're not alone.

The passing on ovals is nothing compared to what you get on a road course. It doesn't matter if they are 5 wide, as long as they're only hundredths() of a second apart. One brakes sooner than the other or one has a little more torque. You want 3 wide on a road course? Watch BTCC, AussieV8's, Rolex Sportscars, Porche SuperCup, LaMans... Etc. etc. etc.

Nope, no passport, plus I cant afford to travel out of the country..

I just prefer ovals for some reason.

Not great big behemoths like in the US to my knowledge. Not here anyway. Barrie Ontario is one of the popular ones in the Canadian Tire series that I know of...

And the week before that, and the week before that...

Twin Ring Motegi in Japan has an oval. This is the only track outside of the US that the IRL runs at.

Eurospeedway Lausitzring in Germany. The track Zanardi lost his legs at. Then there's Rockingham in the UK.

Those are the two relatively big ones I know about in Europe.

We gotta steer this thread back on track. I think it was the boost in power for the finale we were talking about. I think it's kinda nice to see that since the title is out of the way that they are willing to try out something that the drivers had wanted to try out.

Yeah, you are right. I agree that anything a racing series does to try and improve itself is always the right thing to do. The popularity of champ car just isnt what it used to be. The IRL has taken that glory.
