    How to Save Champ Car

I was wondering what other ways you think Champ Car could "save" itself. Other than an IRL merge what can Champ Car do to gain fans and revenue as well as credibility?

Please avoid merger talks (NASCAR, IRL, etc.)

I think running a few ovals when in the US and moving towards more of an international rather that US majority would bring more of the road racing fans from all over the world. The only problem with that is that there are quite a few open wheel road race series out there. The many formula series, GP2, etc. I don't think anyone would expect Champ to be at a level competitive with F1 no matter what they do, but maybe GP2 or similar series.

I know you want to avoid a merger discussion but I honestly think that is the only way champcar can save itself at this time is if they and the IRL merge.

Sorry to say that but at least I didnt get into a detailed discussion.

If there were more popular drivers in the series to make it marketable, it may help.

They need to do something that isn't being done somewhere else, allow movable wings or something like that, that would make it stand out. Something that isn't being done anywhere else. I used to watch it when it was CART, somehow I just lost interest.

You mean besides power to pass. Hehehe. I agree, maybe a more dynamic car to show what kinds of things could be done that aren't allowed now in other open wheel.

Perhaps the marketing dept. needs a shake up There's a good start.

The PTP is pretty cool to watch. An interesting feature that requires a proper strategy. It's like the Power boost that Kitt had in Knight Rider But only one per episode

Just give me a seat in the series and I'll take care of the rest

If Champ Car wants to grow it needs to find a competitive edge, and that could be as simple (relatively speaking) as going to circuits in Canada or England for example. Why should Champ Car only be US-based? F1 has shown that there is a market that can be used (also supported by the diverse field of drivers)

Haha , nope it's my bad. I'm a bit tired, so you're right, Champ Car does have an international presence, but it is still marginal compared to F1. To have a race in England and in Germany is very important
