    Teen driving

I think this is one of the first things I did as a teen (not knowing what I was doing at the time) that almost scared me a little. Anyone have any fun drift stories?

I never drifted on purpose when I was a teen. I was in a car, driving up a hill in the winter though, and ended up drifting on the road. It was awful and icy, and I started to slide down the hill.

I've never done it on purpose either... ok maybe a bit when it was nasty and snowy out and I was in a parking lot. Other than that I've always been a chicken with reckless driving.

I can't wait to read others!

The best way for people to learn is to practice right? I remember once playing around in an exes old Nissian 4x4 in the school parking lot, oops, slide and pop up onto the curb, in the grass and totally tore up the front lawn (sorry school). Fun times.

Of course now, if my kids did that I would fully freak out.

I've had some accidental acrobatics on icy roads, but I've never intentionally drifted a car. If somebody was going to do that, I think being on a closed circuit would be a great idea.

Some friends of mine had some interesting car rides back in the day. Fortunately, we all survived those.

I don't remember ever doing it while I was driving but I had a boyfriend with a restored 68 Camaro and he drove like a maniac. It was a lot of fun but looking back we were complete idiots because of what could have happened.

I had a friend in high school with a 75 Mach 1 Mustang that would really move. I don't think he drifted it, but he did some crazy driving with it.

He was a decent driver at that point, but he'd cracked up his previous Dodge by driving it off the road.

I had someone do something similar with their Dodge, maybe its bad luck? He ended up playing in the snow and ice, went up a pretty small hill but hit something in the road and then went down into the embankment and gutted the under belly of his car.

I've never drifted before, all though it sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Drifting in the snow, perhaps, isn't the best of options though. I'll have to try it some day.

I am not 100% sure what drifting is. When I was younger, we use to do donuts all the time. I think now how crazy that was. It use to be pretty scary.
