How and when did you learn to drift a car?

I am very much interested in learning this skill. Are there schools where they teach how to drift? Or do you just learn them from people who been drifting already?

I learned to drift a car as a teenager learning to drive in the ice and snow. Of course, we called it 'fishtailing' and just thought that was the way your car was supposed to work on the ice and snow.
