    The Future Stars

I added a new little feature today to the site: the "Future stars".

This sorts drivers by race win percentage but differs from the regular "Drivers by race win percentage"-page by the fact that the drivers need to be born 1985 or later and will only have to have a minimum of 15 races registered to be a part of it.

    The list is available here:

Great new addition, I didn't know there was a promising new Swiss driver . It's good to see a diversity among drivers.

I hope that they will find the sponsorships needed to make it to the top, because as well all know, it takes more than talent

Yeah Grosjean will probably go far as he's both talented and a Renault Development Driver.

Sebastien Buemi is Swiss also, I believe. Backed by Red Bull and will be in F3 Euro this year.

One driver that I expect to move up the ranks quickly is Nico Hulkenberg from the A1GP series. From his race on the difficult Taupo track he looked to be a level ahead of all the other drivers.

The US Formula Renault is not competitive, Carl couldn't do well in his 4 races in the UK.
Let's wait and see how well he will do in the Atlantics next week.

I think Skerlong did pretty ok in his UK debut. He was consistently in the top half of the field on two new tracks but had a DNF in one of the four races and ended up eight as a result. Sure, he wouldn't have had 16 wins if he had raced a full season of UK Formula Renault but he probably could have picked up a fair number of good finishes when he knew the tracks.

He seems to have been pretty quick in Atlantics testing so it will be interesting to see how he fares.

I've changed the way the Future Stars ranking are presented now.

    It is now sorted on:
    1. Amount of wins
    2. Race win percentage

So, if two drivers have the same amount of wins the are ranked by their race win percentage.

I think this does give a bit of a fairer picture. The old way benefited drivers racing in lower "easier" categories and this way benefits drivers who have climbed a bit up the ladder.

But as I witnessed in my inbox some hours after the change, not everyone might approve.

We now have the following top ten:

    1. Lewis Hamilton (F1)
    2. Nelson Piquet jr. (F1 tester)
    3. Carl Skerlong (Champ Car Atlantic)
    4. Sebastian Vettel (F1/ World Series by Renault)
    5. Romain Grosjean (F3 Euroseries)
    6. Phil Quaife (FIA GT3)
    7. Nico H?lkenberg (F3 Euroseries)
    8. Colin Braun (ALMS GT2)
    9. Nico Rosberg (F1)
    10. Charlie Kimball (World Series by Renault)

I'm thinking of some other ways to improve this ranking. But as it involves me and thinking it will probably take some time.

I think also comparing to team mate (qually and race finish) would be a fair way to go up or down in rankings?
