Trulli, because he 'trulli' is the best driver out of the two. *snigger* Get it, Jo? Eh? Get it?
You all know you're loving it really.
Hmm... though question... Trulli did beat Alonso in 2004, until he decided to finish his relationship with Briatore, after that, he was announced that he would not be with Renault in 2005 and his car started to have "misterious" failures until he left the team... despite of that, he had 2 poles, 1 victory and MORE points (1 more, in fact) than Alonso by the time he left...
Fisichella, on the other hand, has had to play the second fiddle role *at extremum* throughout this two years. Every single time he has had the upper hand with respect to Alonso in the opening stages of a GP weekend, *something* strange happens to his car. He has been told to move over because "Alonso is faster", he has been sent with a faulty engine because his mechanics "were not able to fix it", he has been sent with a car with extremely low ride height because his team "made a mistake", he has been called to pit in without the fuel hose guy being ready... And he is losing it... On the positive side for Fisico, I have to say that in the last three races, the two times the car has not been perfect, has been Fisichella the one that has made Alonso look like a novice. Strange... I thought that when the car was not a top car, the driver made the difference, but in Renault seems like their #1 guy is uncapable of driving a car that is not perfect....
Having said that, I would go with Trulli. He is REALLY fast and, furthermore, he is mentally stronger than Fisichella.
That's brilliant.Originally Posted by Carlis
I?m voting for Trulli because Fisichella isn?t really a match for Alonso. I know he?s doing well in the last few races, but he really hasn?t performed like Trulli did in a straight fight against Alonso.
True, but he hasn't been allowed to compete against Fernando, and the team is not very supporting either. In Bahrain, they sent him into the race with the same problem that costed him 10% of his engine power during qualy... that speaks volumes of the compromise of the team with their #2 driver. And one thing that has caught my eye lately:Originally Posted by F1 Today
In theory, when the car is not top notch, the driver is the one that makes the difference. So far, I can remember THREE races on which the Renault has not been a top or a referent car since last season: Hungary 2005, Indianapolis 2006 and Hockenheim 2006. Curiously enough, in those three ocassions, Fisichella has been the one that has had the upper hand with respect to Alonso...
Ah yes, but in Hungary I can remember Alonso having a few dramas on the first lap, and he was faster than Fisichella in qualifying.Originally Posted by Carlis
True, but despite of Fisichella's rally-like race of that day (how many off-track excursions did he has? 4? 5?), and the final pit-stop because "his fuel low pressure was low" Alonso was uncapable of catching him... Heck, that day Alonso was uncapable of even catching the Ferrari of Rubens Barrichello, who was also involved in a bizarre accident in lap 1.
I was in a bizarre accident as well. It involved a wheelbarrow, a cardboard cut-out of Papa Smurf and herrings.Originally Posted by Carlis
Lots and lots of herrings.
Trulli goes through to round 2. (3-0)
