D Coulthard
J P Montoya
Closes 17th September
Though one... Montoya is very fast, virtually untouchable in his day, but his psique is very weak...if *something* small fails, his race is destroyed. Coulthard can be very strong in a good day, and is consistent in the long runs. Coulthard has shown that, with a strong car, he is an unvaluable number 2 driver, and that with a midfield car, he can achieve points positions in a regular basis... JPM has shown that is the car is not top notch, then he will be nowhere (in fact, he said that he retired from F1 because he would not be in a top car next season...)
So, I have to say that I will go with Coulthard on this one, although I think that JPM is faster/more aggressive when comparing them on their peak.
This one is quite simple...
Coulthard!
He:
- is a more complete driver than Montoya.
- causes less crashes.
- is a much more proffesional person.
Montoya, on the other hand, is:
- a waste of time
This is definitely not a clar cut question, particularly because there has been a visible deterioration of Monty's perfomance over the past two seasons or so.
As of now, Coulthard is faster. But if you would have asked me back in 2003, I would have said Montoya. Right now, Montoya is fed up with F1 and that's why he left.
Coulthard has been consistent throughout most of his career, but not necessarily at the 110% level that a Hakkinen, Shuey, Raikkonen or Alonso deliver/ed. 8)
Coulthard goes through (3-0)
