Will Japanese Cars Return?

I have checked the 2010 Formula One constructors and there are no teams representing Japanese cars. I had the impression that Japanese cars would someday won a grand prix. But now they are not even in the team roster. Do you think these teams will come back in the future?

Is this the first year that they haven't been represented? I would expect for them to stay involved, as well - I wonder what the reason for the disappearance is.

According to news reports, Toyota stated economic reasons for pulling out of Formula 1. They are currently remaining with NASCAR. Hopefully, the economy will improve and they will rejoin the Formula 1 circuit.

Welp, after all the recent Toyota-drama, doesn't look like those economic problems are going to be going away anytime soon. Dang; so long, Toyota!

So are you going to change your username then? What car company would you replace for your username?

I'm surprised that Japanese cars, especially Toyota, will be affected by the economic crisis in the US. Or is it just a global trend that almost all companies have financial problems?

The economic crisis is not just a US crisis, it is a global one, Europe is still trying to dig itself out. I'm not sure to which extend Asia and Australia was affected (besides the Japanese car manufacturers), but I'm sure they have felt the pinch as well.
Just as an aside, the first Japanese F1 was a Honda, back in the early sixties with Richie Ginther giving them their first victory at the Mexican GP in 1965.
