    Don't Overlook The Tyres

    I know that when I am watching a race I look at the car as a whole and don't really think about the individual parts that go into making that car a winning machine. Then I read an article on Formula1.com about Formula 1 tyres that made me think about the small details that go into the making of a championship car.     There definitely is a lot that goes into a racing car, regardless of what kind of car it is. Part of it, too, is the rules. NASCAR has restrictions on number of tires, sometimes, and in F1 you have to run all these different compounds. I can never keep track of it, to be honest.

    I've not really considered a lot of those details, but I do marvel at how the pit crew works to get the car out of the pit stop and back into the race.

    Pit crews are in a dangerous business, regardless of the racing circuit. Many NASCAR pit crew members were injured last year. I haven't seen as many get hurt in F1, but I'm certain it happens.
