    What would make it better?

F1 needs to be more exciting to be able to keep the fans attention. After all, it is about the fans, correct?

What do you suggest the series should do to make the race more exciting and appealing to the fans?

How is it not exciting now?

Its the top of the top and with millions of people who watch local and international how could it not get any better? The closest I could think would be to put fans behind the wheel but on the safety side thats not the best option.

Leave the rules alone and let the teams settle in to get used and adapt to the new rules, it might take another race or two, but I'm sure we'll see some exiting races this year.

Now THAT would be interesting...maybe along the lines of that movie where gamers were controlling actual human beings via brain microchips. I think it was called "Gamer." I'm kidding, of course.

Then what happens when egomaniacs take the wheel or the controller?

Seriously, certain things have been around for a long time, some unchanged that fad out and some that never change and still go strong. I feel the latter for F1 though, certain things you just can not freak the entire audience out to please only a few.

I caught the opening of one of the F1 shows on Speed tonight and the topic there was Borain (instead of Bahrain). Apparently, the feedback to them is that the race was boring and the audience is tired of boring. They really need to get away from this old standard of being in the pole (well, now it's the first couple of rows) and winning. NASCAR you can start 43rd and win. It happens all the time. That's what F1 needs -- for every driver to have a chance to win and that isn't the case right now.

We can't compare F1 with Nascar. For me, F1 is the epitome of car racing. I think the people who get bored are not really interested with the race itself. The race is not about cars going around in laps but how they drive through those laps. Even the teams on the pits are racing to change tires and refuel the cars.

That's a good point, Tyre. Along with the cars racing around on laps, The other attractions of F1 races are including how the supporting team on the pits do their jobs. If a team won a race, it were not only the driver's achievement but also the whole team's.

I agree with Rainbow Warrior. There has got to be some changing of positions along the race to make it more exciting. I love that about Nascar too, one little slip and you are in the back or the front depending on who made the slip.

Daleismyfave, F1 has this kind of drama as well. Look at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Vettel was leading the race until 34th round came where teammates Alonso and Massa overtook Vettel because of technical problems with his car. The whole race lasted for 35 laps.

F1 also change positions because they have a qualifying race before the official race.
