What do you think about the speed assists?

Sorry, I can't think of the names of these things. Last year, I think it was McClaren that came out with them -- the overtake button? That thing that the drivers click and it gives them this rocket boost of speed to help them pass?

Is this really fair? Do you like these things?

Do you mean like nitrous oxide? Like in the Fast and the Furious or something? I guess it's fair if all the drivers have them but not if only some of them do.

You're probably thinking of KERS (Kynetic Energy Recovery System) This is a system that recovers some of the braking energy and stores it as electric energy, it gives a driver a timed amount of boost per lap via an electric assist, available at the press of a button. A number of teams tested with the system of and on over the 2009 season. Not only McLaren but Ferrari used it as well in racing conditions. Its not used this season, due in part to a number of safety issues, high costs and reliability but might be revived in the future.

Seems fair. Racers should use whatever they can to gain an advantage, if others use it too, then it's not really an advantage unless you know how to use it.

I think its fine, its a smart driver that uses all tools to their advantage right? And if its saved energy its still their energy to do as they please with.

Yeah, the KERS system. I just couldn't think of the name of it. I thought there was something similar to that this year, though. I've heard them talk about it, so there's something different they are using now.

Nope, F1 is not using any kind of speed assist this year, as I've stated, they might revive it in some form in the future, in fact there are rumblings going on presently to that effect.
