After some though about the cost formula causing strange prices for Ferrari engines, I've decided to make a tweak to the formula.

Previously, the cost for a drivers, engines and teams was only based on previous average rankings.
This resulted in a winning engine also used by non-winning teams being very inexpensive. Ferrari as an example with 4 engines not scoring points and 2 engines scoring points(and a win) resulted in their cost being only $2 million.

The new formula now takes average points scored into account as well. This new magic formula is best explained with an example.

If ferrari engines score 1st and 5th, that's 14 points. If the customer teams had 3 DNFs that minus 3 points for a total of 11 points. These DNFs are ranking of 22nd,21st and 20th for example. They have a large negative effect on their average ranking.

Now take another engine, say Mercedes finishes 2nd and 6th for a total of 11 points as well.

Both engines scored 11 points, but their average ranking is drastically different. Both will cost the same with this new formula.

The philosophy being that it doesn't matter how an driver, engine or team scores its points. All that matters in this league is earning points and the cost associated with making the picks.

I hope that's clear enough. You'll notice a slight effect on your costs from the first race. It is quite minimal. There is a definite effect on the cost of picks for Malaysia.

This formula will be the permanent formula from now on. There will be no further changes to it this season. I don't want to mess around with team picks. I just felt this change was absolutely necessary. The formula is perfect now.

If you've already made picks, you may want to go over them again.

Good luck!
